There was good communication from the property with clear instructions about how to check in and a friendly response to my questions. Check in is self service, although there was a very friendly older gent around when I arrived. The room was simple but comfortable and cozy. There is a kitchen upstairs with some microwaves, hobs and handily dishwashers. Across the hall a breakfast room offers bean to cup coffee, plus a wide variety of teas and hot chocolate. That is all free, you can buy breakfast for 5 EUROS, which offered cereals and toast. For day tours and airport transfers, the two main hubs (BSI and Bus Hostel) are both a short walk, whereas most properties require (paid for) feeder shuttles that are expensive and take time. So that aspect is a bonus. You can also park nearby for free, which is rare for Reykjavik properties.

It had all the necessities for a comftorable stay. The kitchen was usable, it had pots, pans, cutlery, 2 washers…. I really liked the sharing cabinets, where travelers took and left stuff when they left the property. It really made me feel like we’re trying to minimize waste and spending, which is very welcomed, when in Iceland. The room was clean and tidy, it had an amazing plant. The cold water tasted exceptionally, the hot water was always available. The receptionist(probably the property owner) was exceptional. He was really understanding and helpful and enabled us an early checkin(which was subjected to availability) and even let us leave the luggage there for free cause we had a late flight. He was very opening and a happy person, and he really gave us very nice first impression of the house with his lovely smile!

The owner Fredrik, was lovely and very helpful as an autistic young female travelling alone I was a little worried and overwhelmed however fredrik made sure everything was straight forward easy and comfortable for me there was nothing that overwhelmed me it was a very comfortable and pleasant experience and I will definitely be booking igdlo guesthouse again and recommend it entirely all the staff was super polite and friendly, the home was clean and all facilities were well kept and homely I don’t have breakfast due too being out early most days but plenty tea and coffee food/breakfast looked and smelt beautiful though, for free able too wash clothes and dry no extra charge really was a great place too stay and also very easy and memorable walking into the centre and attractions in the area

Great location. Located centrally, 10mins from both the city center and the bus hostel terminal ( where the airport bus direct stops). Bus stop 9, which is one of the tour pick up location is also a 10mins walk away down a straight road. Well stocked kitchen facilities and fridges to keep your food as eating out is expensive in Iceland. You would have to get the groceries from town. Bonus, one of the big grocery chain in Iceland is about 15 mins walk away. Large, comfortable common dining areas with free around the clock coffee and teas. Comfortable and spacious shower with spaces to put your clothes so that it does not get wet.

Owner/manager guy who checked me in was extremely friendly and helpful Price is fantastic, especially for Iceland Location is fantastic too, less than a 10 minute walk from the BSI Bus Station and the city centre (also just a couple of minutes away from the nearest bus stops) Room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable Even though the bathrooms were shared, the bedroom had a sink, which I found very convenient and handy Temperature in the bedroom was fine and easily controlled by a radiator dial Even though I didn't use it, there was a kitchen that provided cooking facilities and also free tea and coffee
